About the Artists:
Raisy Derzie- My Monotypes are a form of printing most associated with painting- in fact it is a painting printed on a sheet of paper.  Printing is my form of escape.  The goal is to give the illusion of calm and serenity away from the everyday worries and to grab little moments of joy through vivid colors and compositions.

Barbara Flamm- My inspiration comes as much from experimentation with process as from nature.  I produce one-of-a-kind, hand-pulled prints using various techniques- relief, intaglio, monotype, drypoint, solar-etching, collagraph, etc. which are usually combined with encaustic and/or other media and hand additions to create the finished piece.  My work features expressionist, organic forms and at times the process of creating the plate and my manipulation of the various elements of the piece take on a life of their own.

Stephanie Navon Jacobson- I find fragments of nature to be very exciting.  Often they lose their recognition of the original image and take on their own organic, sensual beauty.  There can be many interpretations of any given piece.  There is a romantic quality about the images, yet they are powerful.  My initial subject matter, flowers, is inherently light and soft.  However, my materials are heavy and strong- black grounds, oil base inks.  Increasing the scale of a delicate, soft object transforms it into an object with strength and powerful energy.
